Sessions
SANAKO Study 1200 has up to six sessions for conducting learning activities. Sessions are color-coded for easy identification - teachers will always know which sessions students belong to simply by checking the color of the shirts on the student icons.
The teacher can initiate separate activities for the students in different sessions to help differentiate teaching and learning. More advanced students can work on their own material, while students who require more teaching support and attention can work in other sessions. In the Self-Access mode each student works independently of all the other students.
Communication
With Study 1200, the teacher can talk to the entire class or to a group of students. The teacher can also listen to and discuss with a selected student and participate in a student’s activity.
PC Control - General
Study 1200 gives the teacher control over student PCs, which allows for guidance and support of the students. The teacher can black out the student screens and/or lock the cursors and keyboards to draw their attention to a given task. The student PCs can also be shut down, restarted and logged off individually or all at the same time. Audio communications have been designed to ensure that the teacher can maintain voice contact with students to give guidance and instruction when they are needed, without distracting others during the lesson.
Quick and Easy Web Tour
The teacher can browse the web in order to present material while students follow this activity. Once the presentation is over, students can be left at a prescribed point to continue with independent study. It’s the ideal way of keeping students focused on the teacher’s choice of Web-based material!
Student Recorder Features
The SANAKO Study 1200 Digital Recorder allows the teacher to use a wide range of compatible media file formats for language teaching. Students can play, stop, rewind, fast forward and pause a file and record their voices.
Student Recorder with Bookmarking Functions
Students using the Study 1200 digital recorder can also set and remove bookmarks to locate places in files for review and additional practice. Clicking on a set bookmark starts a media file playing from the selected passage. Setting bookmarks allows students to easily return to sections in the file that require additional attention, either to better understand them, to review the material covered, or to search for answers to questions set by the teacher.
