Sanako, Inc. is the official US office for Sanako Corporation. Based in Rochester, NY, Sanako Inc. is dedicated to serving our customers and working with sales and business partners in the local market.

The Evolution of a Brand

Sanako is the result of the unification of the Divace, Tandberg Education, and Teleste brands. This union allowed us to combine cutting-edge technology with decades of experience in education and language teaching.


1961 First Tandberg language lab produced
1961-1979 
Tandberg grows to become global leader in language labs
1964 The first Tandberg lab in the US was installed at Harvard University. The original lab, installed in 1964, was operational for nearly 20 years and was replaced with another Tandberg learning center - the IS-8 language lab system.
1984 Teleste acquires Educational Division of Tandberg
1991 Teleste Educational develops world’s first computer-controlled language lab
2000 Teleste Educational installs world’s first virtual language lab
2001 Teleste Educational becomes Divace through ownership changes
2003 Divace changes its name and launches a new global brand: Sanako
2006 Sanako launches Study, a modular software language lab
2010 Sanako products are present in more than 30,000 classrooms around the world.

Since the first language lab in the US, over 850 language labs and multimedia learning centers with nearly 25,000 student stations have been installed in high schools, colleges and universities throughout the US.
